News and Updates: Art Request - RFP Healthy Place Celebration Award
On November 10, 2016, the Colorado Health Foundation will be celebrating the completion of the first Healthy Places Initiative! The celebration will be held on November 10, 2016 at Re:Vision Interational in Westwood, CO. At the event we will be awarding a community member from each of the Initiatives three communities (Westwood, Aravda, and Lamar). We want the Award to represent the essence of each community and are reaching out to artists within each community to customize the award.
We prefer that artists within each of the communities create the Award (i.e. local Arvada artist creates Arvada Award). All artists must submit a proposal. Download the RFP here. Please read the RFP closely as it has complete details of expectations and how to submit a bid. Please keep in mind that all bids MUST be submitted by Sunday, October 2, 2016. We will annouce the winners on Friday, October 7, 2016. Questions, please contact Amber Mitchell at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 720-579-8313.
Terrace and Homestead Park
As part of the Healthy Places Initiative,Terrace and Homestead parks are being enhanced with a variety of amenities including fitness stations, trail upgrades, increased wheel chair accessibility, picnic/pavilion areas and additional benches for seating. These amenities were designed based on feedback from the public and are intended to activate the space and invite residents to visit the park and stay longer. Additional trees and shrubs will also be planted to increase the beauty of the parks! These enhancements will be completed by late summer. To see the final design concepts download the PDFs from the column on the right. Construction of both parks is now complete! Visit these to parks to enjoy the new amenities. For additional information on the Healthy Places Initiative, contact Healthy Places Coordinator Rose Chavez at 720-898-7535.
